Anti-mosquito sound · iPhone and iPad
An anti-mosquito sound for warm evenings outside.
Hushquito plays a steady high-frequency tone, 15 to 22 kHz, from your iPhone or iPad. Treat it as an extra, chemical-free layer: use it alongside a proven repellent, a screen or a net, never instead of them.
Coming soon to the App Store. Free to try: 10 minutes a day.

The science
The honest part.
Field studies haven’t found that ultrasonic sound reduces mosquito bites. A Cochrane review of ten field studies (Enayati, Hemingway and Garner, 2007) found no difference in the number of mosquitoes caught with or without electronic devices like these.
So Hushquito is an extra, chemical-free layer for the evenings you spend outside. Use it alongside a proven repellent, a screen or a net, never instead of them.
Good to know
Who can hear it.
Most adults can’t
The highest tones are above what most adults hear, so silence is normal.
Children, teens and pets may
They may hear the lower tones. Lower the pitch, or stop, if anyone is bothered.
Keep the phone close
Phone speakers play the highest tones only weakly, so keep the volume up and the device close by.
Privacy

Questions
Questions and answers.
Does Hushquito stop mosquito bites?
No one can promise that, and we don’t. A Cochrane review of field studies (Enayati, Hemingway and Garner, 2007) found no difference in the number of mosquitoes caught with or without electronic devices like these, and no effect on preventing bites. Use Hushquito as an extra, chemical-free layer, alongside a proven repellent, a screen or a net, never instead of them.
Why can’t I hear anything?
Most adults can’t hear the highest of these frequencies, so silence is normal. Children, teens and pets may hear the lower tones.
Can children and pets hear it?
They may hear the lower tones. Lower the pitch, or stop, if anyone or any pet seems bothered.
What’s free, and what does Premium add?
Every day you get 10 free minutes with all 5 sound patterns, the full 15–22 kHz range and background play. Premium removes the daily limit and adds schedules and all 8 color themes: $4.99 a year, or $7.99 once. Prices may vary by country.
Does it keep playing when I use other apps?
Yes, for everyone. Other audio apps may interrupt the tone, so for the steadiest sound don’t play other audio at the same time.
Does Hushquito collect any data?
No. Your settings, schedules and history stay on your device, and Apple handles purchases. See the privacy policy.
Which devices does it run on?
iPhone and iPad.
