No reading needed
Help comes without words.
A child who can't read yet, and doesn't know English yet, is shown what to do. Wait a few seconds in the round above to see it.
The Explorer says it
Every word is spoken aloud, and said again if a child waits.
The puppy shows where
It sniffs, and its paw prints lead to the thing.
The hand shows how
A little hand acts out the tap, the drag or the coloring.
A whole town
Eleven places to explore.
Each place has its own rooms, 43 in all, and each room has about fifty things to find: nearly 1,000 different words. Every play puts different things in different spots. The places open one after another, from the easiest words to the hardest.
HomeThe Backpack
Words that stay.
Every word found goes into the Backpack, where children hear it again and play quick games with their collection. Kadoo brings each word back at the right moment, mixing new words with ones the child has met before.
Letters, numbers and songs
From A to a song.
The ABC book fills up as children find letters in the rooms, each with its own sound. Numbers go up to 100, words split into syllables, and 48 sing-along songs cover the alphabet, phonics, counting, words and the seasons.
Explorers
Six Explorers and a puppy.
Each child picks a friend, who speaks with a girl's or a boy's voice and goes with them everywhere. Tap one to say hello.
For parents
Behind a grown-ups' question.
The parents' area opens with a times-table question that grown-ups answer at once. Try it.

What age is Kadoo for?
Children aged 4 to 8, including children who can't read yet: every word is spoken aloud and every action is shown. On the App Store it is in the Kids category, for ages 6–8.
Which English does Kadoo teach?
American English: every word is spoken aloud with an American accent, and spelled the American way (color, soccer ball).
Does my child need to know any English first?
No. Kadoo starts from first words, and help is given without words, so a child who has never heard English can play.
Is Kadoo free?
Kadoo is free to download, and part of it is free to play: the house, the song “Sounds A to M”, the alphabet and the photo album, for one child. Kadoo Full Access or Kadoo Family Plus opens everything.
Does Kadoo need the internet, and does it show ads?
It works offline and has no ads and no accounts.
What data does Kadoo collect?
None. Progress stays on the device and in your own device backups. “Start fresh” or deleting the app removes it.
Can brothers and sisters share it?
Yes. Up to four children can play on one device, each with their own Explorer and progress. Two or more children need Kadoo Family Plus.
Where can we get Kadoo?
On the App Store, for iPhone and iPad (iOS 17 or later) and Macs with Apple silicon. It's free to download.
Start in the house, for free.
Kadoo is free to download on the App Store for iPhone and iPad. Kadoo Full Access or Kadoo Family Plus opens the whole town.
