How to use these words
Pick one room and five words a day, not a whole page. Say each word as you point at the picture, then at the real thing if you have it. The next day, start with yesterday's five before adding new ones: young children say new words more readily after meeting them on several different days than after hearing them many times in one go (Childers and Tomasello, 2002).
Teachers can print a room's flashcards for a lesson on that topic: the kitchen for food, the classroom for school things, the farm for animals.
