Facts about Studycat were seen on 25 October 2026. Studycat's own website blocked our automated check that day, so three of its claims are quoted from the Internet Archive's copy of 11 October 2026, linked above.
Where Studycat is stronger
- Speaking practice. Voice recognition invites children to say words aloud and gives feedback; Kadoo doesn't listen to children speak.
- More languages and devices. Its interface comes in 33 languages, and it runs on Apple TV and Android.
- Several accents. Children hear more than one voice and accent.
- Recognized. Studycat lists a 2026 Bett Awards "Highly Commended" and is kidSAFE certified.
Where Kadoo is different
- Nothing collected. No account to create, and an App Store privacy label of Data Not Collected: no contact details, usage data or diagnostics leave the device.
- Guided without words. When a child waits, the Explorer says the word again, a puppy's paw prints lead to the thing, and a hand shows the tap.
- Words in the order children learn them. Places open one at a time, ordered by how early children usually learn their words, and found words come back on later days.
- A free part with no time limit. The house, a song, the alphabet and the photo album stay free for one child.
Which one to choose
If you want your child to practice speaking out loud, or you need Android or a language Kadoo doesn't offer for parents, Studycat is the stronger fit.
If you'd rather nothing about your child leaves the device, and you want a calm, guided path through everyday words, Kadoo is built for that. You can try both: Kadoo's house is free with no time limit.
